High Speed Rail Authority work starts
The High Speed Rail Authority has started survey work between Brooklyn and Dangar Island, according to Marine Rescue Hawkesbury.
It has been told that work is currently underway to develop the proposed first stage of a high speed rail network - a new connection between Newcastle and Sydney.
"Marine surveys will be carried out to support the development of the Newcastle to Sydney Business Case.
"Planned marine survey work Marine survey work will be carried out in the Hawkesbury River from Wednesday, September 25, to Wednesday, October 16.
"This involves a vessel moving slowly in straight lines or in a grid pattern.
"Marine surveying involves a water vessel moving slowly in straight lines and in a grid pattern, around Danger Island.
"Some survey methods involve towing survey equipment on the surface and underwater.
"The surface survey equipment will be connected to cables approximately 20 and 80 metres long with visible buoys.
"The vessel will be displaying day shapes during this work."
