Bowling club presents $8600 to prostate cancer unit
The Umina Beach Men's Bowling Club presented a cheque for $8600 to the Central Coast Local Health District Prostate Cancer Unit on Wednesday, September 18.
"These were the funds raised at the club's Ron Pursehouse Prostate Cancer Charity Day, which was held on Wednesday, June 19," said club secretary Mr Peter Springett.
The club's sponsorship officer Mr Ian Jarratt gave a brief history about the event.
Central Coast Health's cancer nurse co-ordinator Ms Kimberley Dalton thanked the club members for their outstanding effort in raising the significant amount of money, Mr Springett said.
"She gave a brief introduction to the possible equipment that CCH might buy with our donation."
President Lee Cribbs said a few words on behalf of the members.
