Storm rainfall almost doubles April average

Rainfall on the Peninsula in the first two weeks of April has been almost double the April average.

A total of 261.7mm was recorded by 9am on Friday, April 12, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.

This was 76.8 per cent above the April average of 148mm.

Most of the rain came in during the storm on Thursday and Friday, April 4 and 5, with 57.2mm recorded at 9am on the Friday and 152mm on Saturday.

Another 45.2mm was recorded on Wednesday, April 10.

It has brought the total rainfall for the year 507.3mm, just 16 per cent below the average cumulative total at the end of April of 604mm.
