Abandoned vessel removed from Woy Woy Bay

An old abandoned damaged vessel was removed from Woy Woy Bay on Friday after local residents alerted Clean4shore to a craft in the mangroves on the Woy Woy-Kariong Rd.

Clean4shore co-ordinator Mr Graham Johnson said a local homeless resident helped with the "tricky removal process" dragging the craft before winching it onto a car trailer.

Mr Johnson said: "The question needs to be asked: Why do these craft keep coming?

"Surely compliance can track down an owner and issue a fine or recovery costs."

He said: "If Clean4shore keeps removing them, they will keep coming."

The craft weighing 560kg was taken to Woy Woy Tip.
