More than 8000 people attend Coastal Twist festival

More than 8000 people attended 11 events for the Coastal Twist Arts and Culture Festival over the long weekend of October 5 -7, according to organisers.

More than 75 per cent of tickets were sold.

Festival director Ms Glitta Supernova said: "Pivoting itself at the intersection of fashion, celebrity, music and art since its debut in 2019, Twist has become one of the state's most distinctive festivals celebrated for its elevated arts and culture mash with a unique Coastie-centric vibe highlighting local emerging and established superstars alongside Australian and global headliners.

"The festival saw up to 36 per cent tourism visitation, reaffirming its crucial role in revitalizing the Central Coast's community and culture, while continuing to attract visitors beyond the region.

"With an artist transport van covering 900km for airport and local trips, the festival was backed by 52 crew members and 116 volunteers, supporting 56 paid artist spots.

"The numbers exceeded every expectation, the events were magical, and the engagement from our audiences speaks for itself."
