Our 100th entirely voluntary issue
This is the 100th issue of Peninsula News that has been produced on an entirely voluntary basis.
We think that is quite an achievement and something to be proud of.
Our first entirely voluntary issue (#506) was produced four years ago, after a long-standing arrangement we had had with Central Coast Newspapers came to an end.
That issue reported the suspension of Central Coast Council "for three months" and the appointment of an "interim" Administrator.
This issue reports the return to an elected Central Coast Council, albeit subject to a "performance improvement order".
Peninsula News is owned by the non-profit community group, The Peninsula's Own News Service Inc.
Our fortnightly community newspaper is produced voluntarily by local people as a service to our community. No one is paid.
Volunteers are always welcome and can involve themselves in any aspect of the paper's production.
