Passenger train collides with car at level crossing

A passenger train collided with a car at the Rawson Rd level crossing in Woy Woy at around 6:15pm on Friday, April 19.

The driver got out of the vehicle prior to the collision and was not injured.

It is understood he drove the car onto the track mistaking it for the road.

NSW Ambulance attended the scene and confirmed no person on train was injured.

The accident stopped all trains between Hornsby and Gosford.

Buses started replacing trains at about 7:15pm.

The 130 passengers on the train were allowed off at about this time.

Train services resumed at 5am on Saturday.
