Collaborative practice days at Ettalong
Staff at Ettalong Public School last week participated in "collaborative practice days' in their stage teams, led by curriculum and instruction assistant principals Mr Aaron Johnston and Ms Renee Robertson.
"These days are held every five weeks and are an opportunity for our staff to reflect on their teaching practices and student achievement data," said principal Ms Jodie Campbell.
"They can dive deeper into research and professional learning in line with the focus areas and priorities from our school strategic plan and the new curriculum reforms being implemented in NSW.
"As a team, we will be analysing our student data for this term in literacy to plan our explicit teaching focus areas for the remainder of term four.
"In addition to this, all stage teams will be diving into work samples and looking at examples of achievement to draft our stage-based marking criteria as we prepare our semester two reports.
"These opportunities for our staff to collaborate, develop their teaching practice and plan for quality teaching in our classroom are such an important part of the work we are doing to support student growth and attainment at Ettalong Public School.
"We look forward to celebrating the great things that come out of the week."
