Tiny library starts of sticks for dogs
Dog-lovers in Ettalong have started a "tiny library" of sticks for their dogs next to the Tiny Book Library on The Esplanade at the end of Picnic Pde.
Checking up on their Tiny Library, members of the Rotary Club of Brisbane Water found the container with sticks for dogs.
"It works on the same principle as the book library," said Rotary newsletter editor Ms Di Bartok.
"Borrow a stick, then return it if possible."
Ms Bartok said the tiny book library was well-patronised, with a good turnover of books evident.
"We were pleased to see that books had been taken since last we checked, leaving room for more, which is a good thing.
"The idea of a street library is that people take a book, then bring it back and take another.
"There always seems to be a good selection of fiction and non-fiction.
"It is not so good to see books crammed in where people obviously have just dumped books."
