Labor nominates Belinda Neal as lead for Gosford West
The Labor Party has nominated former Senator and Member of Parliament Ms Belinda Neal as its lead candidate in Gosford West ward for the Central Coast Council elections.
Her running mates are Mr Adam McArdle and Mr Mark Ellis.
The Local Labor Team has nominated a full complement of three candidates in each of the Council's five wards.
Ms Neal said the team would focus on the cost of living, the Coastal Open Space System, a "core services guarantee" and "ensuring infrastructure keeps up with development".
She said she wouldapply her extensive experience to ensure the financial sustainability of the council, so ratepayers were not left paying the bill.
"The community is entitled to expect that the council is well run and not accumulating debt.
"We will ensure the administration is accountable.
"We also feel strongly about protecting our unique coastal environment and extending our Coastal Open Space System."
She said the "core services guarantee" would include roads, drainage, sporting fields and childcare.
"We are all excited to be returning democracy to the Coast and will be putting the needs of residents first."
