Peninsula News address to Rotary club
Peninsula News editor Mr Mark Snell has spoken at the Rotary Club of Umina Beach following the publication of the 600th issue of the newspaper.
Club publicity officer Mr Pat Lewis said Mr Snell, who works in the IT industry, had a background in journalism and started the Peninsula News in 1999, over 25 years ago.
"He has voluntarily been its editor ever since," Mr Lewis said.
"Today, through 10,000 weekly copies, it continues to build community on the Peninsula by keeping us fully informed of all of the wonderful and important local events occurring.
"Mark is currently appealing for volunteers to assist in this important facility."
Mr Lewis said Mr Snell addressed the meeting with great commitment and passion, and was presented with a certificate of appreciation by club president Mr Dave Tanare.
