Arboretum pavilion work starts
Work on a new verandah pavilion at the Pearl Beach Arboretum cottage is about to start.
With the work expected to be completed in late July, the Arboretum has already planned a community picnic with entertainment ion Sunday, August 18.
The structure will provide about 70 square metres of covered outdoor space to better accommodate the Arboretum's environmental, educational and community activities.
The project has been supported with donations from Arboretum members and others and through the local Bendigo Bank's Community Funding.
The Arboretum has also been successful with a grant application to enable it to do some repairs to the cottage and to improve access and landscaping around the new pavilion.
