School for Seniors hears of mental health peer support
Peninsula School for Seniors has heard from Ms Liz O'Keefe from Grow, a peer support group offering mental health wellbeing programs.
The School which meets at the Peninsula Community Centre heard that "Grow groups are based on lived experience".
"It's a meeting of peers who are striving to develop and maintain good mental well-being," Ms O'Keefe said.
"Our program has helped thousands of Australians to recover from a range of mental health issues.
"Grow offers practical steps and peer support to help you recover your mental health and achieve your personal goals."
A Woy Woy group meets 2pm to 4pm on Tuesdays at the Anglican Church Hall at 151 Blackwall Rd, Woy Woy.
"No doctor's referral, diagnosis or registration is needed," said Ms O'Keefe.
