Rotary club hears about Lovebites
The Rotary Club of Woy Woy has heard about Central Coast Lovebites from guest speakers Ms Libby Payne and Ms Erin Jacobs.
Rotary club president Mr Trevor Walker said the Lovebites program was a well-established national respectful relationships program created by the National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.
Lovebites Central Coast partnered with Coast Shelter to co-ordinate the program on the Coast, he said.
"It is a fantastic opportunity for high school students, aged 11 to 17 years, to participate in a full day of discussion and interaction with Erin and Libby and there are no questions that are off the table.
"These age-appropriate workshops are delivered in a fun and interactive way, engaging young people in peer-led discussions.
"They are designed to empower young people with the tools and information to have healthy relationships now and into their futures."
Mr Walker said the pair had presented Lovebites into 26 schools across the Coast, involving 13,575 students.
"It has been running since 2008, and most schools have been involved with the program many times."
He said it was "an excellent presentation, and a very worthwhile program".
