Trivia night for religious education
The Rotary Club of Umina Beach is planning its annual Trivia Night in support of Religious Education Ministries.
The Ministries employ teachers to deliver the religious education program at Brisbane Water Secondary College, according to Rotary president Mr Pat Lewis.
"These teachers work on a full-time basis at the college and interact with students' across the full range of college activities just like all of the other college teachers."
As former college principal, Mr Lewis said that the contribution made by teachers was "immense" and reached far beyond their classroom teaching roles.
This includes assistance in pastoral care for students, counselling of students in times of loss, and in developing in students a strong sense of values and ethical behaviour.
The Trivia Night will be held on Friday, August 27, in the Woy Woy Campus hall in Edward St, Woy Woy, from 7pm.
"Quizmaster Dr John Irvine will ensure that all present again have a fun-filled evening, while college students will demonstrate their immense skills in managing many parts of the evening's program," Mr Lewis said.
"A sausage sizzle will be available at the hall from 5pm, and tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available inside the hall."
Tables of eight persons at $10 per head can be booked with Pat Lewis on 0412 437 496.
