More students compete in tests
Record numbers of students at Brisbane Water Secondary College Umina Campus are participating in academic testing competitions this year, according to relieving head teacher of teaching and learning Ms Genelle Farquhar.
"Parents are becoming more informed and want to know how students compare with their peers across the state," Ms Farquhar said.
"The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools provide students with a comparison across maths, science and English.
"Teachers use the detailed results to inform their teaching.
"Results show a significant improvement in student results each year."
