Chamber pleased about foreshore promise
Peninsula Chamber of Commerce president Mr Matthew Wales said the chamber was "extremely pleased" with Labor's commitment to spend $2 million on the Ettalong foreshore.
"The Peninsula Chamber has worked hard over the years to ensure that the Ettalong Beach foreshore is upgraded so that it is accessible to everyone in the community," Mr Wales said.
"So naturally we are particularly pleased that the Federal Government has pledged $2 million towards the next stage of the foreshore upgrade should they be successful at the Federal election.
"The $2 million will enable the upgrade work to continue including the culvert extension at the end of Beach St, the construction of the new amenities building and the building of the shared cycleway and pedestrian access.
"It is imperative for the successful future of Ettalong Beach that the foreshore works continue and the chamber will continue to lobby all levels of Government to ensure that adequate funds are allocated to complete the works."
