New plans for Umina Mall
Gosford Council is currently assessing the development application for a mixed commercial, retail and residential development project to replace the existing Umina Mall shopping centre on the corner of Ocean Beach Rd and Lone Pine Ave.
The development application for Lone Pine Plaza was refused in December last year due to its parking layout and design, zoning and locality requirements as well as traffic issues.
Council's manager of development Mr Gary Chestnut said the development application submitted by Laundy Exhibition Pty Ltd was "complex" and traffic movement and parking issues had delayed the DA process.
"Council's assessing officer is looking at the development application as we speak and will prepare a report to council once the application has been assessed," Mr Chestnut said.
"A time frame cannot be put on the development application process given the complex nature of the application.
"The development application has been delayed due to traffic movement and parking concerns being discussed between council staff and the Roads and Traffic Authority."
