It's official - David is excellent
Member and former president of Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club Mr David Unger was named Official of the Year at Surf Life Saving NSW awards of excellence held in Sydney on July 24.
The award comes on the back of winning the Central Coast Branch Official of the Year award for the past two years, according to Ocean Beach director of marketing and PR Mr Aaron Camp.
"The award itself recognizes outstanding contributions to officiating at local, state and national surf sports carnivals," Mr Camp said.
"Ocean Beach SLSC is the oldest surf club on the Central Coast and one of the strongest surf clubs in NSW across both Surf Lifesaving competition and patrols."
Mr Unger, who was recently elected as director of surf sports for Surf Life Saving Central Coast, said he was surprised by his win.
"There is something for everyone in surf lifesaving, and being an official is a rewarding way to get involved," Mr Unger said.
