Cancer Council seeks volunteers
Cancer Council's Central Coast office is looking for 30 local volunteers to help out with fundraising efforts on the Peninsula for Daffodil Day this month.
Cancer Council Central Coast community relations officer Ms Lesley Chart said it received a great response from Peninsula volunteers last year and was looking forward to the same response this Daffodil Day on August 27.
"On the Peninsula, Cancer Council is helping fund local support groups, advocacy campaigns and transport for cancer patients."
"The success of Daffodil Day each year relies on the support of over 10,000 volunteers across the country.
"By volunteering a few hours of your time, you are helping the cause too.
"We've had a great response from locals so far, but still need another 30 people to volunteer in the Peninsula area so we can run over 35 sites across the coast and hit our local fundraising target of $66,000.
Ms Chart said locals wanting to order a merchandise box or to volunteer were encouraged to call 4336 4500.
