Grant to local author

A local author has received a Federal Government grant of $3000 towards publication expenses for an historical account of the Royal Australian Navy Band.

Killcare Heights author Mr Robin Himbury received financial assistance under the Department of Veterans' Affairs' Saluting Their Service commemorations program for his work The Evolution of the Royal Australian Navy Band.

Mr Himbury was one of three grant recipients within the Robertson electorate along with the Far East Strategic Reserve (Navy) Association and the HMAS Hawkesbury Association.

Member for Robertson Ms Belinda Neal congratulated the three recipients.

"Saluting Their Service provides an important source of funding to help local ex-service and community organisations honour and remember the men and women who have served Australia in wars, conflicts and peace operations," Ms Neal said.
