Guide dog volunteers collect in Gosford
Nine Peninsula members of the Central Coast Support Group for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT will show their support for the cause by volunteering as donation collectors at Gosford Imperial Centre early this month.
The Peninsula residents will join other members from the support group at the Gosford shopping centre as part of Charity Week from August 3 to 6.
The group hopes to raise funds to enhance the quality of life for people with impaired vision, according to group publicity officer Ms Lynne Lillico of Pearl Beach.
"Guide Dogs NSW/ACT does incredible work providing free services to people who are blind or vision impaired," Ms Lillico said.
"However the organisation receives no government funding, relying entirely on the generosity of the community to continue providing these vital services.
"We are always looking for new members to assist in our fundraising efforts, particularly from the Peninsula," Ms Lillico said.
