Telstra store closes without warning or explanation
Are readers of Peninsula News aware that Telstra's Woy Woy store closed late last year?
When I arrived at their Woy Woy store on Thursday, November 23, I found the doors closed with a sign on the outside saying the store was permanently closed, and the nearest store was now Erina.
This was the first I had heard about the store closing. I switched to Telstra on July 24 last year, mainly because they had a store on the Woy Woy Peninsula.
The last I heard from my contact person at the Woy Woy store was on August 25, when he sent me a text message as a promised follow-up to check on whether my Telstra service was working satisfactorily.
He did not mention anything about the store possibly closing, so I presume he knew nothing about it either.
Since then I have made a number of attempts at contacting Telstra to find out when and why the Woy Woy store was closed, and why there was no prior notification to customers about it.
I even visited the Erina Fair store that the closure notice said was now our nearest store.
But nobody I have written or spoken to has known anything about it or been able to find out anything.
As far as I am aware, it leaves Optus as the only telco with a store on the Peninsula.
