Peninsula gardens win awards
Three of this year's Gosford Council Garden Competition awards have been won by entrants from the Peninsula area.
Winners were announced at a special ceremony in Erina on September 23.
Joan and Keith Whitfield of Woy Woy received the Best Eco-Friendly Residential Garden category while Ms Alva Bell of Umina took out the Champion Residential Garden less than 1000 square metres.
Pretty Beach Public School was also successful in the local awards winning the Best School Garden for a Primary Schools or Pre-schools.
Gosford mayor Cr Chris Holstein said it was fantastic to see how much support the community had given this year's competition.
"The quality of gardens in this year's competition is of the highest standard.
"It is great to see so many people entering this wonderful competition," Cr Holstein said.
"It is also pleasing to see in this year's gardens there is more of a focus on gardens being water-wise and eco-friendly, which can only help benefit the community."
