The highest May rainfall in 20 years already
Less than one third of the way through May, the Peninsula has had almost three times the month's average rainfall.
By 9am on Friday, May 10, a total of 205.76mm of rain had been recorded, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.
It is already the highest May rainfall total in 20 years.
The average rainfall for May is 74mm.
Three days recorded more than 25mm, with 61.2mm on May 1, 36.0mm on May 5 and 58.0mm on May 6.
Falls of 21.0mm and 12.5mm were recorded on May 2 and 3.
The cumulative total for the year now stands at 763.6mm, 12.6 per cent above the end of May average of 678mm.
It is the first time the year-to-date figure has been above average since January last year.
