Reduced circulation
Gosford Council pays good money to Rupert Murdoch's local "news" paper to distribute its public notices.
Is council aware that in the last six months that it might have lost 25 per cent of its readers because the publisher has reduced its circulation by over 8000 copies?
Has council received a reduction in the cost of advertising in proportion to the reduction in its circulation or is this just another example of the reduction in the size of a tin of baked beans without a reduction in the price per unit?
And do the children employed by the publisher to litter the environment by throwing papers on the public footpaths still get paid the same generous rate or pay per thousand copies?
