Canoe club to host regatta at Patonga
Central Coast Outrigging Canoe Club will host its own regatta at Patonga Beach on Saturday, February 17, with competing clubs coming from all over NSW.
The regatta follows the club's success at the Newcastle Regatta on January 20.
The morning started with the OC1 and OC2 Shortcourse, with the club taking first place in each.
The club's novice crew in an OC6 won its event.
"It was an exciting finish, catching up three boat lengths to win by one second," said club media officer Ms Rosemary Chapman.

Stephen described the experience as "exhaustion, elation, team spirit".
Janet said it has left her "hungry for more".
The Women's Grand Masters Crew came second in their division in challenging conditions over an eight kilometre course.
"They managed to stay upright, while five canoes capsized and one had to be towed due to a damaged hull."
In the Long Course, the club's Golden Masters Mixed crew came in third.
"A great day was had by all our paddlers," said coach Michelle Costa.
