Year 5 students tackle regeneration of rare bushland
Umina Beach Public School has a new group of Year 5 students attending weekly bushcare sessions in Term 2.
They are working to regenerate the Umina Coastal Sandplain Woodland bush adjacent to the school.
"The students are working with bushcare educator Ms Suzie German, learning bush regeneration skills and all about their unique local ecology," said P and C president Ms Penny Jope.
"We're seeking volunteers for the Year 5 Bushcare on Tuesdays in Term 2 from 12pm to 2.10pm.
"Casual helpers are welcome.
"No previous experience required. Gloves and tools provided."
