Parenting courses being offered
Beachside Family Centre is offering a range of parenting courses for families with children over the age of two.
Triple-P Positive Parenting Program will hold four sessions on Wednesday mornings from 10am to noon, from November 3 to 24 in the grounds of Umina Public School, Sydney Ave Umina.
The program is free of charge and is designed to help parents and carers to understand children's behavior.
There will also be an evening parenting program called 1-2-3 Magic, teaching parents an approach to ensure children do not receive positive reinforcement for negative behaviour.
1-2-3 Magic will be held on Monday evenings, November 15, 22 and 29, from 7pm to 9pm.
Parents will learn an approach which takes "time out" one step further and looks at how parents can spend enjoyable time with their children.
Childcare is available for Wednesday morning classes only for a gold coin donation.
Bookings are essential for both courses.
With inquiries, call 4343 1929.
