Little Theatre is first to get Mousetrap rights
Woy Woy Little Theatre has secured the rights to perform the famous Agatha Christie play The Mousetrap for next year's theatre season.
Theatre group publicity officer Ms Patrice Horne said the famous play was performed non-stop in London's West End for more than 58 years.
"This is the first time amateur rights have been released in Australia and coincides with the 60th anniversary of this play which opened in 1962," Ms Horne said.
"The performing rights will not be available in Australia until September, 2011, and will only last until December, 2013.
"During this period Woy Woy Little Theatre will be celebrating its own 50th anniversary and this play, which will open in October next year, is the ideal lead-up for our celebrations."
Ms Horne said the play would be written for Peninsula audiences by the theatre group's president Ms Barbara Hickey.
