First Grade One pennant
More than 120 members of the Umina Beach Women's Bowling Club joined together to celebrate the first Grade One Pennant win in the club's 50-year history.
Club publicity officer Ms Kaye Cavanagh said the club was abuzz with excitement at the celebration event on May 4.
"Central Coast district president Lesley Swales and Central Coast district chairperson of match Winsome Wallace officiated," Ms Cavanagh said.
"Invited guests included Everglades president Betty Dodd, the Everglades runners-up side, president of Merrylands RSL Ron Hand, Club Umina chief executive officer Tony Jeffcott and Umina Men's Bowling Club president Ian Jarratt.
"The winning side and runners-up led by Ms Swales and Umina president Gwen Jarratt marched onto the green through a guard of honour to the beat of Tina Turner's Simply The Best.
"Ms Swales congratulated all players and then proceeded to unfurl the flag.
"The Umina players were presented with their Pennant badges and certificates while Everglade players received their certificates for runner-up.
"It was then onto the bowling green for a fun game of bowls followed by a barbecue lunch and celebrations well into the afternoon."
