New principal appointed for Woy Woy Public School
A new principal has been appointed for Woy Woy Public School.
She is Ms Sandy Knowles, who moves from a position of deputy principal at Terrigal Public School.
She will start at Woy Woy on Monday, July 22.
Education Department Brisbane Water Network director Ms Joanne Wilcher said the appointment was the result of a "full merit selection process".
"This has involved a five-person panel with myself as panel convenor as the director, along with staff, community, principal and AECG representatives.
"Ms Knowles brings to the school significant experience, most recently as the deputy principal of Terrigal Public School, including extensive periods of time as relieving principal at the school.
"I know that the Woy Woy Public School community will benefit greatly from her deep curriculum and wellbeing knowledge, her educational leadership and vision, her capacity to develop staff and her interpersonal skills in establishing productive partnerships with parents and the broader school community.
"Ms Knowles is greatly looking forward to working in partnership with the staff, parents and
community to ensure that Woy Woy Public School continues lo provide excellent educational
opportunities for all students."
Ms Wilcher acknowledged the "excellent leadership" of Mr Dan Betts at Woy Woy Public
School, "leading the school with a clear and strong focus for improving the students' educational experiences, supported by a highly-engaged community and increased leadership capacity within the school".
