Support for healthy choices
A non-profit community group formed to support people facing health challenges will hold an eight-week course in Umina starting on July 29.
Health Connections course organiser Ms Shirley Hotchkiss said the Finding Ways course was designed to help individuals activate the healing process, particularly those with physical disability, disease or chronic conditions.
"Our bodies have the ability to heal if we provide the right conditions," Ms Hotchkiss said.
"But people often don't have the support or resources that would help them make good decisions about their health.
"Finding Ways is an eight-week course that will cover topics and methods to help people find ways to negotiate their own health direction.
"Often there are a few avenues to explore, rather than just one.
"And, when people share experiences and a few laughs, they make new connections and directions."
The course will be held at St Andrews Anglican Church hall located at 360 Ocean Beach Rd, Umina Beach, on Thursday evenings from July 29 to August 16 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
Course fees are $10 per night or $60 payable on the first night.
Enquiries are welcome and bookings essential to shirley@openwindows.com or phone 4341 9301.
