Resident help sought to water street trees

The Grow Urban Shade Trees group is calling for resident help in keeping street trees watered during dry weather.

"We don't like to see the trees that our team has planted suffering and even dying," said tree group member Ms Deb Sunartha.

"Trees are a living thing and need care.

"With hot winds and burning sunshine, please give your trees and your neighbour's tree a deep soak every day.

"If you see a thirsty tree, please let us know and consider becoming one of our Watering Angels."

The group has a list of addresses which need special attention.

This month has been the driest November in 18 years, according to records kept by Umina resident Mr Jim Morrison.
