Opportunity to focus on regional plan

Many of us are deeply worried about our beautiful Central Coast and what our politicians and bureaucrats have in mind.

Already Mike Baird's Government and the Central Coast Council are approving development west of the M1.

The newly-released Central Coast Regional Plan is a Baird Government plan, to be over-sighted and controlled by a Baird committee of mostly Sydney bureaucrats, demonstrably committed to widespread privatisation of public lands, public hospitals, public schools, public roads, public electricity provision, and so on.

If Central Coast residents, other than developers and privateers, want to contribute to, and influence, the future of the Coast it is vital that we understand the State Government's recently produced Central Coast Regional Plan 2036 and its Implementation Plan 2016-2018.

We know many non-political people feel strongly about the future, about our public beaches, national parks, bays, lakes, rivers, lagoons, and state forests, about the absence of a Central Coast Youth Plan, and plans for sustainable jobs, housing availability including for emergencies, support for ADF vets, a genuinely fast and reliable internet ... amongst other absent plans.

Marcelle Hoff and I reckon it is a big worry but few people know its contents, or its intentions.

So Marcelle, Ettalong resident and former deputy mayor of the City of Sydney, and I, Pearl Beach resident, will provide an opportunity for us all to come together for two, two-hour sessions focussed on the regional plan and its implementation plan.

These sessions will be held at 40 Cornelian Road, Pearl Beach on Saturdays, December 10 and 17, for two hours (9:30am for 10am to 12pm).
