Sewerage completed at Empire Bay
The Cockle Bay Towns Sewage Project has been completed for the residents of Empire Bay.
They have finally been connected to the new mains system.
The project, announced in October 2015, took just over 10 months to complete.
Sydney specialist civil engineering firm Codmah delivered the project to the residents who have been lobbying for a wastewater solution for close to four decades.
"Our focus was on minimising environmental impact" said managing director Mr John Murtagh.
"We proposed using HDD Trenchless Technology to the council, in an effort to cause minimum disruption to residents, and the local environment.
"Both residents and councillors were delighted with our approach."
Codmah submitted elaborate plans, taking into consideration potential impact on air and water quality, noise and vibrations, biodiversity, heritage, soil, traffic, and other factors, ensuring a pleasant experience to local and passing residents, while minimising harmful impact on the environment, he said.
